Our Balloon Ride Launch Site is the ball field at The Clinton Elks, just two miles from exit 15 off I-78, Clinton, NJ. Go to the Elks web site with this link http://www.clintonelks.org/contact.asp for directions to the front entrance. For navigation devices, Map Quest or Google, use this address: 211 Sidney Rd, Pittstown, NJ 08867. For your information, some nav systems will put you short of the entrance by about 100 feet. When you are near, look ahead on the left for the big white, Clinton Elk signs on each side of the driveway. Turn left at these signs and drive straight down to the end of the lane where there is a parking lot on the left and the Lodge building on the right (Don't drive to the back of the lodge where parking is restricted). The Elks Lodge is a public bar with rest rooms so please feel free to use the facilities. We will meet you on the ball field at the appointed hour.

For your information, The Clinton Elks Lodge is one of many in the country. All Elks Lodges are actively engaged with charitable fund-raising activities dedicated to the needs of handicapped children and veterans, as well as service to their local communities. The Clinton Elks has about thirty acres of land with facilities for hosting large outdoor social events such as picnics, weddings and family reunions. The Lodge also produces many public, charitable events such as motorcycle runs, music festivals, and golf tournaments. For details see News on the Elks web site.

The Fox and Hound Tavern is an excellent restaurant for dinner after a Sunset Flight. Dress is casual and the fare is anything from a light appetizer to a three-course dinner. The Tavern is also just a few blocks from an entrance for I-78 Eastbound. www.foxandhoundtavern.com/

The History of Modern Hot Air Ballooning. In 1973, at the tender age of five, Dave Wesner witnessed the First World Hot Air Balloon Championships at Albuquerque, New Mexico. American Balloon's Tom Oerman was there, too, as one of four U. S. pilots competing in this prestigious event. Dave has diligently gathered a broad collection of pictures and first hand accounts for a comprehensive view of the exciting early days of the sport. www.ballooninghistory.com/
